MEDICAL TERMINATION OF PREGNANCY

This price does NOT include the cost of the medication:

$320 without medicare (private insurance providers may cover some of this cost)

This price does not include the cost of required investigations (bloods and ultrasound). For patients with access to medicare most, if not all, investigations can be accessed without any fees through bulk billing providers.

IUD INSERTION (MIRENA OR COPPER)

30 minute procedure

Medicare rebate ~$75 (Item no. 36)

Requires pre-insertion consult on a previous day ($110, rebate ~$75) - this consult can be incorporated into a termination of pregnancy appointment and then inserted at follow up from 3 weeks after termination.

This price does NOT include the cost of the IUD:

Mirena IUD

$7 concession card holders

$41 medicare card holders

$215 without medicare (private insurance may cover some of cost)

Copper IUD

~$80 (price is regardless of concession/medicare status)

IMPLANON (CONTRACEPTIVE IMPLANT)

Insertion is bulk billed

30 minute consult for the Implanon to be inserted is bulk billed.

Requires pre-insertion consult on a previous day - 15 minute consult $75 with $38 rebate (or bulk billed for patients under 18yo or concession card holders).

Can be inserted at the same time as a medical termination of pregnancy consult for no extra charge.

This price does NOT include the cost of the Implanon implant:

DEPO (CONTRACEPTIVE INJECTION)

Standard consult fees only

15 minute consult

$75 (medicare rebate $38)

Bulk billed for patients under 18yo or concession card holders.

Can be administered at the same time as a medical termination of pregnancy consult for no extra charge.
